Job Description

All applicants must be able to meet the following standards:

  1. Acquire the Georgia Firefighter Standard and Training Council Requirements to be certified as a Georgia Firefighter
  2. Pass a medical exam consistent with National Fire Protection Association Standard 1582
  3. Obtain EMT Certifications as set forth by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians

 Post Offer Requirements:

  1. Post offer negative drug test (drug free work place)
  2. Pass NPQ Firefighter I Certification (within 1 Year) and maintain throughout employment
  3. Valid Class E or F Driver’s License and maintain throughout employment
  4. Must maintain wellness and physical fitness.  Medical and psychological examinations as well as physical fitness testing will be required.

Education Requirements

  1. Candidate must be at least eighteen years of age
  2. High School graduate or General Education Development Equivalency
  3. Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License in the state of residency
  4. Must be able to pass the Catoosa County Fire Department written exam for a Recruit
  5. Must be able to pass the Catoosa County Fire Department Physical Agility Test (PFT)
  6. Must possess EMT-B or gain the certification within 18 months of employment
